TADA revealed the observations on the trends of the advanced automotive industry

In the CES this year, the intelligent technologies of BEVs undoubtedly became the focus of the exhibition. Furthermore, as the trend of the industry moves toward electrification and intellectualization, the demands of related automotive electronics and chips keep growing. So how should the advanced automotive industry of Taiwan react?

In order to make the ICT and related industries of Taiwan to become the cooperation partners of the global automotive industry, TADA revealed the “The observations and suggestions of the advanced automotive industry of Taiwan” on 11th January to propose 4 points of conclusions about the directions of the market in the future.

In the event, Sam Shen, the secretary general of TADA, mentioned that according to the prediction of Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute, Institute for Information Industry, the global sale volume last year is about 81,500,000 units, which is close to 2021, and the sale volume of BEVs had reached 10,870,000 units that it might be increased to 14,400,000 in 2023, and the market share is about 17%. Furthermore, the main markets are still China, Europe, and USA. In addition, the scale of the mobility technology area in the CES this year is up to more than 300 companies, and the focuses are fields of smart cockpit, in-car infotainment systems and automotive cyber securities, etc., The target is to reshape the eco-system of automotive electronic systems, upgrade the autonomous driving technologies, and the digitalization of the experience of car using. So, the accleration of the integration between the ICT industry of Taiwan and global automotive industry is an issue that needs more promotion.

In the conclusion proposed in this event, TADA pointed out that the existing companies in Taiwan can find chances in fields including the development of ADAS, smart cockpits, and charging piles, etc., Because they can utilize their expertise of automotive electronics and intelligent technologies. On the contrary, the field of power batteries has been occupied by China and South Korea, so that second-movers have a little chance. As for the market of intelligent BEVs, the evolvement of China, USA, and Europe are relatively mature, and ASEAN countries (e.g., Thailand, Vietnam, etc.,) have potential either. To sum up, TADA will keep their attitude of serving countries in Taiwan to explore business opportunities with them.
