"Weekly car news " is a recap of some of the major stories in Taiwan car market last week.

22nd August 2022

●The management team of the proving ground in ARTC paid visit to ZalaZONE proving ground in Hungary and CARISSMA research center in Germany for interaction, to learn about the intelligent vehicle verification and the planning of testing infrastructure environment around the globe , to improve the operating management of proving ground and the expansion of application services.

●MIH Consortium will introduce “cockpit open structure” and “low power-consumption DMS” achievements on 8th November.

23rd August 2022

●Audi Taiwan introduced the Q5 / Q5 Sportback 40 TFSI, and the trim levels and starting MSRPs are “享馭版” (NT$ 2,250,000), advanced “進化版” ($NT 2,450,000)、Sportback advanced “進化版” (NT$ 2,560,000) and Sportback S line “運動版” (NT$ 2,690,000). Also there are limited Launch Edition models, and the MSRPs of Q5 and Q5 Sportback are NT$ 2,340,000 and NT$ 2,790,000 respectively.

●Taikoo Commercial Vehicles announced that they will introduce 35 ton, 43 ton, 46 ton electric trucks naming FM Electric, FMX Electric and FH Electric respectively in 2023, and they also announced that Goldsun Building Materials and Taiwan Secom will purchase 26 ton electric trucks beforehand.

●Hotai Group held the first-ever “Hotai MaaS data Hackathon”, and the theme is “the combination of intelligent technologies and shared economy data”.

24th August 2022

●Foxconn’s subsidiary FARobot announced the “Swarm Autonomy solution” has been commercialized, which utilizes DDS to complete “fleet data sharing”.

●Special automated transfer equipment developed by CMC’s subsidiary GreenTrans will begin mass production in indicative clients of semiconductors in Q4 this year.

●PG Union introduced the Peugeot e-2008, and the trim level is GT pack, and the MSRP starts from NT$ 1,499,000. Panoramic sunroof is an option pricing NT$ 60,000, and special colors including Pearl White, Red, Blue, Pearl Black are listed as options pricing NT$ 30,000.

●Fukuta Electric & Machinery announced the target of the next 10 years is to become the ODM manufacturer of BEV powertrain, and it scheduled to mass produce the motors of motorcycle and jet ski in Q4 this year.

●The first-ever “Tainan Green Expo” will be held from 2nd September to 4th September, and 12 BEVs from 9 brands will be displayed on site. Besides, online show and 4 seminars will also be held.

●The MoF announced the application period of incentives for replacing heavy duty diesel trucks will be extended to the end of this year, and the maximum incentive per truck is up to NT$ 650,000.

25th August 2022

●Hotai Motor announced to hold the “TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Fan Festival” race track experience fair in LihPao Racing Circuit on 19th October.

●CARB voted and passed the regulation for the ban of the sales of fuel-only new cars from 2035, and they also set the transitional goal of phasing out ICE cars gradually.

●The Transportation Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government held the seminar of the deployment of charging ports, and they will establish 400 ports by the end of 2023. There will be a growth of 5% year by year to fulfill the goal of 2,000 ports in public parking lots around the city.

26th August 2022

●The construction of TNCAP’s pedestrian safety laboratory, which is located in ARTC, has been completed, and the first assessment is scheduled to be conducted in 2023.

●Yulon Motor held the stockholder conference, and the annual forecast of the new cars market has been decreased from 436,000 units to 420,000 units.

●Taipei Triangle Motors introduced the Euro 6 Isuzu NLR and NMR that are equipped with six major safety features including dual cameras, AEB, BSD, etc.,. In addition, all Euro 6 models are provided with 3 years or 100,000km extended warranty.

●Kuozui Motors activated the AFC intelligent energy storage plant, which includes 4.2MW energy storage equipment. Its efficiency is classified as dReg0.25 1st class, which can react in 1 second.

●Delta Electronics cooperates with America’s EVgo, and they will provide 1,000 sets of 350kW DC fast-charging ports.

●Panasonic plans to invest US$ 4 billion to build a BEV battery factory in USA.
